Coriendo CEO Addresses Penn State University Forum on Business Process Improvement in the Mining Industry

Rosemont, PA September 16, 2004 -- Peter A. McGrath, Chief Executive Officer of Coriendo, LLC was a featured speaker at a recent mining industry conference sponsored by Penn State University's Department of Energy and Geo-Environmental Engineering. The conference, entitled Industry Summit on Mining Performance: Business Process Improvement in the Extractive Industries, was held in Pittsburgh, PA on August 11th and 12th, and brought together top leaders from the mining industry.

McGrath's paper, "Business Process Management Technology: Opportunities for Improved Efficiency and Reduced Costs in the Mining Industry", addressed a topic that is getting a great deal of attention by not only operational managers but also top level financial and strategic planners in the mining industry.

In his presentation, McGrath said that "Paper is the worst enemy of achieving success with business process improvement initiatives". He offered several strategies for addressing this problem including bringing together both technology and what he called "process partnering" services into one comprehensive solution.
