New International On-Line Buyers Guides For Construction, Building, Mining and Quarrying Industries

New International On-Line Buyers Guides For Construction, Building, Mining and Quarrying Industries
A new Internet service launched this month by cmldir.com is poised to give the world's construction and mining industries vastly improved marketing and purchasing powers.
It is the brainchild of former technical editor and marketing specialist, Roger Lindley, who has spent seven months developing the service since first seeing the need for a truly comprehensive online-database for the construction, building, mining and quarrying industries around the world.
cmldir.com buyers' guides are compiled from a maintained database of over 9,000 companies supplying the industries. On-line data is prioritized and expanded for each company that has verified the information for accuracy. All companies will be required to verify their data at least once every 12-months but information can be updated at anytime. This will ensure that cmldir.com buyers' guides continue to present the most up-to-date source of information for buyers and specifiers.
Believed to be the most comprehensive global online buyers' guides for the industry sectors – one serves construction and building and the other covers mining and quarrying – cmldir.com has, since its inception, gained the support of some 500 international companies.
In addition to serving both as a fast and flexible marketing tool for manufacturers and as an up-to-the-minute buyers' guide for specifiers and buyers, the web site also includes information on major international exhibitions and conferences, trade publications and trade associations. It also offers an alternative choice for ‘Used Equipment' and ‘Job Opportunities'. New services will be added as demand grows.
Through the cmldir.com unique information panel, companies can add interactive features such as links to company profiles, product profiles and dealer listings in as many languages as they like. Other options include links to web pages and direct email links. The online buyers' guides will eventually be available in regional editions.
Every company listing includes an email link for additional information similar to reader enquiry cards in conventional publications. It is estimated that there are over 10,000 such opportunities for users to request additional information.
cmldir.com chief executive, Roger Lindley says: "One of the nightmares for all companies is that such essential information as telephone numbers, addresses, products and services are constantly changing – and no company can afford to wait a year or more for the next directory to be published.
"The past two decades have seen great, wide-ranging changes across both construction and mining industries internationally and I am confident that our service will give a new boost to this important sector and help it overcome many of the problems with which it has been beset in the past.
"I believe it to be a significant advance that we can ensure that a company's details are always right up to date which also serves to keep users of plant and equipment well informed.
"Eligible companies can be listed free of charge and the cost of enhanced entries and interactive services are affordable by all companies. Unlike many internet based services, our rates are published on the web."
In designing its website, cmldir.com has placed strong emphasis on ease and speed of navigation through its comprehensive menu comprising several thousand companies in two main industry sectors; over 100 main product categories broken down into more than 1000 sub-categories and the various marketing support services that cmldir.com can provide.

Already, manufacturers have asked for additional information to be given alongside their entries. Detailed company and product profiles – in different languages, together with dealer listings will soon be evident throughout the site. Companies are also in discussion with cmldir.com as to how the site can feature Quick-Time Video and Sound to show machines in action. It is the intention of cmldir.com to make the site as truly interactive as possible and is prepared to explore the full potential of e-commerce.
cmldir.com is a trading name of 3V Limited, the holding company established to meet the requirements of investors. The company intends to promote and develop the site through a worldwide advertising campaign and participation at major exhibitions. The company has already started work on compiling data for additional niche industry buyers' guides.
